A Koenders windmill is aerating the septic tank of a Cambodian

orphanage in Kompong Chhnang, Cambodia....60 miles N of Phnom Penh. The
orphanage was started and is run by the Warm Blankets group
(missionaries)

/pher/
The mill was donated to them by Frank Manning. Go to

/cambodia for more information. See the
tab "Why Cambodia".
Malibu Water will be donating another solar and windmill aeration
system for their water supply... To remove arsenic and other harmful

metals that are endemic in all of SE Asia's groundwater.
Update :
We were sent a sample of water from Bangladesh that had 100 ppb of
arsenic in it. They say that arsenic is endemic in the ground water of
SE Asia.
By aerating the water in a container of rusty nails....we removed 100%
of the arsenic. Iron, because it oxidizes so fast, binds other solids
suspended in the water...like arsenic. The oxidized iron (bound with
the arsenic) drops to the bottom of the container and is drained
away...leaving you with pure water. Arsenic contaminated water can be
cleaned in any container with about 1/3 of the conatiner filled with
rusty iron. The iron drops totally out of suspension...leaving no iron
taste. You can even do this aeration in a simple 55 gallon steel
drum...that is rusted.
If you think the orphanage needs this system, we'll send them one
free....with instructions for its assembly.
Symptoms of arsenic poisoning is wasting of the muscle tissue and rapid
weight loss. It is also best to aerate the drinking well water while it
is in storage (in a tank). Describe the well water situation there for
me.
