Overspeed Protection | Furling wind speed:

Windmills turn out of the wind (furl) at high wind speeds to prevent the windmill from exceeding the structural design limits of the machine.

Tower Height:
The Koenders Windmill system Air Compressor and Windmills Blades are the same for the 12 ft | 16 ft | and 20 ft tower heights. The reason we recommend the 12 foot tower is because in severe winds a 16 ft or 20 ft tower will need to be more securely anchored than a 12 ft tower, and often there is enough wind consistency at a 12 ft height. You can always later add a 4 foot extension to your 12 ft or 16 ft tower.
