The Pond Dynamics / Aquaculture Collaborative Research Support Program (PD/A CRSP) | related page |
represents an international, multi-disciplinary effort to improve human nutrition through pond aquaculture research.
The work of the PD/A CRSP benefits both domestic and international aquaculture.Focus: improving the efficiency of aquaculture systems.
Aquaculture, the cultivation of aquatic plants and animals, is an ancient art and an emerging science. Global demand for fish has soared in the past decade, while stocks of wild fish have dwindled. In many developing countries, fish is the single most important source of animal protein.
In the 21st century, aquaculture promises to be the primary means of increasing fish production. The PD/A CRSP has brought together the resources of developing countries and U.S. institutions to increase the efficiency of pond culture systems and to disseminate successful aquaculture strategies.
Our publications range from technical reports geared toward aquaculture researchers to the program newsletter which seeks to inform the general public of our latest activities. | related page |
Our data tools section enables downloading of our POND© decision support software and global aquaculture data sets from the PD/A CRSP Central Database. A brief overview of these data tools | related page |

The aim of the Aquacultural Engineering Society (AES) is to provide a means by which its members can come
together to discuss engineering problems related to aquaculture. AES works closely with other professional
societies which also address aquaculture needs and issues in a more general sense. AES serves as a united
voice for aquacultural engineering in the general aquacultural community and provides an engineering
perspective to the problems and proposed solutions to these problems. AES serves as an authoritative
source of information on aquacultural engineering and provides engineering support to initiatives from or for
